Winter, the season of gifts and giving
Wonderland images always fill my mind
White blankets of snow cover the roads and grant precious extra hours of sleep
What seems to be the most beautiful season quickly grows old
Withered limbs and flowers bore me
Waiting for springtime showers occupies my free time
Wishing for summer to return and school to end always plagues me
Winter, the season of sadness.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!

The little things in life tend to excite me. For instance, just today I discovered all the cool symbols you can make on your computer! All you have to do is put your computer on num lock and hold the alt key. Like, for this cute little heart ♥, you just have to press alt + that little three on the L key. Here are the exciting symbols you can make...

A Dog's Tail

Dogs are a huge part of my life. I actually have FOUR! We have an extremely lazy shih tzu (sp?) Emmy, an adult german shepherd female Ulli, an obese bichon frise, and a brand new german shepherd Apollo. They are all extremely different. Ulli is extremely annoying in my opinion. Her advice would most likely be, "Chase anything that moves and bark ALL the time." Emmy's advice would be something like, " Sleep at least fifteen hours day." Ozzy is my favorite dog of the house. He is at least thirty pounds over weight. My dad likes to say that he is the Barry Bonds of bichons. His advice would probably be, "Move as slow as possible. There is NO reason to move any faster."
Considering I just met Apollo on friday, I'm not sure what he would say. My best guess is, "Pee on anything you see." Even though my dogs can be a headache, I still love them. They are the best snuggle buddies in the world :D

a first

Its very easy to say that I do not enjoy driving. I usually avoid it at all costs. In fact, before this morning I have never successfully parallel parked. But, to my gratification I FINALLY parked correctly!! I am so excited, and I feel that I might not actually be that horrible of a driver :D. I'm actually scheduled my appointment for my test. Hopefully I pass...

Trademarks ™

I'm not sure what my trademarks are. They could be that I constantly worry, That I never can sit still, and...I really don't know the others. I did always used to think that my initials were on EVERYTHING because ™ are my initials. Its kind of hard for me to figure out other people's trademarks too. I'm not exactly the most observant person. But the ones I do recognize are; my dad has an extremely loud laugh, my sister is very lazy and is always singing, and my mom feels the urge to research every topic. People's trademarks are what distinguishes everyone.

Ugly words

There are many words in the English language that disgust me... a few of them are:

- Chunky : this reminds me of chunky vomit, or chunky milk...enough said
- Moldy: its just gross
- Scum: As soon as I hear this I think of mold...not something I enjoy
- Fondle: no explanation needed
- congeal:I can't explain why I hate it, I just do.
- poo: again, no explanation needed
- stomach:
- pickle: lets just say that pickles and me don't get along all that well.
-study (its the horrifying combo of student + dying! Whats to like?)
-gossamer: this immediately brings back horrible memories of decorating for prom last year.

Really Bad Ideas

I believe that everyone's intelligence lies in different areas. I believe that mine is definitely not in the area of common sense. I unfortunately have very little. This has resulted in a lot of really REALLY bad ideas. (Note: i have only actually done 1-7 :o) )

1. Tell your mom to suck it, apparently they don't like being told this.
2. Decide to voice your opinion against drug use to the scariest girl in gym class.
3. Drink a huge glass a milk before running a mile in hot weather. Trust me, its terrible.
4. Stay up really late the night before taking the ACT.
5. Dress in all-out Hawaiian apparel as a sixth grader when nobody else participates.
6. Get chunky hi-lights.
7. Dancing around the kitchen and breaking the dishwasher
8. Show up extremely late on the first day of work
9. Go to a haunted house alone
10. Run with scissors

Resolutions

I've been meaning to post my New Year's resolutions. It might be a week late but here they are...

- actually use my agenda book
- try to not stress as much
- read my bible every night
- eat healthier
- drink more water
- appreciate my family/friends more
- try to be more organized
- keep in touch with my out of town friends
- write in a journal
and I'm still adding to the list :o)

Hopefully I can actually accomplish some of the items on my list!

Don't say it

As far back as I can remember, I have always been taught NEVER to say I hated anyone. It didn't matter how awful they treated me, what a mean person they were, or how terrible they acted. I can only remember one instance when I told my mom that I hated her, and believe me that was the last time I ever said that phrase. The taste of soap in my mouth wasn't something I wanted to experience again. I never have grown into the habit of telling someone I hated them. Hate is a very strong word.

But, love also is also a strong word and I use it very single day to some family member or friend. Using love shouldn't be as carefree and thrown around as a lot of people in my generation use it. It drives me bonkers when people who have been dating for a very short period of time say they love each other. Love is developed and special, not a generic catch all phrase. When we start using it for everything it begins to loose its meaning and not be as important.

The Best of Times and the Worst of TImes

2009 was the best of times, and it was the worst of times! All in all I can safely claim the year 2009 to be a success. Nothing horrendous occurred, but I did learn a lot about others and myself through many experiences. I am not one of those people who claim they don't regret anything they did in the past, because I do. I regret being rude, not being sensitive to other people's feelings, not taking advantage of good opportunities, and not having enough fun or letting my "hair down." But, regrets aren't the only thing that fill my memories of the past year. Some of my favorite memories include taking first place in state in Latin Dancing with my other group members, keeping good grades, joining new clubs, making new friends, and surviving sophomore year. I can't wait to see how 2010 plays out...only time will tell.

p.s. I actually titled my blog before we started reading A Tale of Two Cities!

Blogger's Block

After reading through my blog today I came upon a depressing realization. I have steadily been getting more and more boring in my writing. Just thinking of blogging used to excite me and ideas flowed easily. Nowadays it is getting more and more difficult to think of a topic :(. I really enjoy blogging though, and hopefully this blogger's block will lift soon! If not, I apologize for boring readers out of there minds.

Just Listen

Christmas was a time for me to catch up on some reading I have desperately been wanting to do. I actually read about ten books. I've decided that one of the books I read is my new favorite. Sarah Dessen's novel Just Listen was absolutely amazing! It was more than just a great story. I feel as if I actually grew after finishing it. One of my favorite from this book is ," Don't think, don't judge, just listen." One of the biggest things I have struggled with is judging people before I get to know them. I also have the horrible habit of interrupting people when they are talking. I always feel terrible about it afterwards but I can't seem to stop myself! I could completely relate to the characters. Ahhh I just love this book :)
